Coaches Clinics & Other Information

We will soon have dates for our 2012 Coaching Clinics. The SYF coaching clinics are open to our entire membership and highly encouraged for all coaching applicants. The coaching clinics will feature Coach of Coaches staff, returning coaches, and the High School Varsity Coach, Sean McNabb.

Online Registration

Scappoose Youth Football registration is an online process. All children in grades 3 through 6 (entering in the fall of 2012) are eligible to signup and play. Players are not accepted as official registrants until the registration is paid in full. Registration will run now through July 1, 2012. The cost to register for the 2012 season will be $180 on or before June 15, 2012 and $200 if you register after June 15, 2012.

Form Requirements

We have streamlined the process so that there is only one additional form you must complete, sign and turn in before we can release equipment, a Medical Release Form (which we need by July 1, 2012). We will have the original of the Player's Contract at equipment issue for you to sign, so it is not necessary for you to bring that one also.

Medical Release Form

All players must have a physical to participate in the football program. The league will accept the signed Medical Release form from anyone licensed or approved by the State of Oregon to perform physicals. Form must be dated after February 1, 2012 (physical may happen prior to the February 1 date) and must be on the Tualatin Valley Youth Football 2012 Medical Release Form. Please also be sure that there is a Parent Signature. This form must be received by SYF by July 1, 2012. It can be mailed to 176 PO Box Scappoose, Oregon 97056. [download medical release form]

Refund Policy

Refunds will only be made prior to the issue of equipment, and before Official Registration (execution of the Player Contract) is completed. There will be NO REFUNDS after the start of the first day of practices. — If player withdraws before equipment handout: Full Refund less $10 processing fee — If player withdraws after equipment handout, but before season starts: Full refund less $35 ($10 processing fee and $25.00 helmet recertification fee.) — If player withdraws after season begins: No refunds. Special circumstances may be brought to the board.

Waiting Lists

Registration submissions will be prioritized for acceptance of the player into Scappoose Youth Football based on registration/payment date, i.e. a "first come, first served" basis. Acceptance is based on filling the maximum players per level. Any registration submissions after the closing registration period will be subject to a non-refundable late fee.

Scholarships

At Scappoose Youth Football, we believe is important that every child get a chance to be a part of the program, so to be sure this is possible, SYF has a limited number of scholarships available. They are given out based on need. If you are interested in being considered for a scholarship please email the registrar at scappooseyouthfootball@yahoo.com . Deadline to apply for a scholarship for the 2012 season is June 1, 2012. Applicants will be notified of the SYF Board's decision by June 12, 2012.

For players going into middle school…. * Registration for middle school football should take place when you register your son for school.

  • August 6th: Gear handout at Middle School field: incoming 5th -6th graders @ 5pm, 3rd – 4th graders @ 6pm ***Medical release is required to receive gear. If you did not mail it in or receive a physical at the school make sure to bring it with you to gear hand out.
  • August 6th: Practice begins for all teams. 6-8 pm at the middle school field. (No pads. Helmets, mouthpiece, shorts, shirt, and cleats only.) Check in table opens at 5:00.
